Eid Mubarak!

As we end another Eid and children run to me for Eid money, I remember those families unable to eat even a grain of rice or drink a drop of water. Every Eid I spend some time in contemplation for all those people around the world who are either hungry, thirsty, homeless or oppressed, and it saddens me much that in all the abundance of everything we have, many of us forget to stop and be thankful for it all. My thoughts and prayers extend to each and every member of the Ummah on this blessed day and I hope that each of us is around to see another Eid day insha’Allah. Please remind yourselves on today of all days of those less fortunate and be generous in the spirit of giving that today should embody.
